This meeting was cancelled and did not go ahead.

We are currently planning to have a South East meeting one weekend in October 2009 at a venue in London (somewhere easy and cheap for most people who want to attend to reach by public transport). The main purpose will be to meet one another (many of us for the first time) and to discuss the organisation and any initiatives we want to start.

Requirements:

Niceties:

We've asked Tim Dobson to speak with the BBC in Manchester (who North West have used for meeting several times) to see if they know about BBC venues in London, Robert Leverington is also going to ask a couple of London LUGs about how they acquire venues.

Talk to Jonty about "The Hub", Hackspace meets there and it's exactly what you're looking for, although weekend availability might be tricky. (jonty@jonty.co.uk / jontyw on irc.freenode.net)

[edit] Attendees

No one.

[edit] Agenda

It would be nice if someone could do a talk on a topic that interests them, it will mean that everyone comes away from the meeting having learnt something new - as well as meeting the other members, and having a discussion about the group.
