London, October 2009
From DFEY
We are currently planning to have a South East meeting one weekend in October 2009 at a venue in London (somewhere easy and cheap for most people who want to attend to reach by public transport). The main purpose will be to meet one another (many of us for the first time) and to discuss the organisation and any initiatives we want to start.

[edit] Venue
TBD
Somewhere in London.
Requirements:
- Free wireless Internet
- Plenty of power sockets
- Space for ten to twenty people
- No cost
Niceties:
- Large screen or display
We've asked Tim Dobson to speak with the BBC in Manchester (who North West have used for meeting several times) to see if they know about BBC venues in London, Robert Leverington is also going to ask a couple of London LUGs about how they acquire venues.
These places may be useful:
Talk to Jonty about "The Hub", Hackspace meets there and it's exactly what you're looking for, although weekend availability might be tricky. (jonty@jonty.co.uk / jontyw on irc.freenode.net)
[edit] Attendees
There isn't any point in splitting this in to confirmed/unconfirmed/unavailable yet as the venue and time hasn't been decided and this is quite far away.
People who may attend:
- Rob Barry
- Robert Leverington
- Isabell Long
- Stephen Mount
- Connor Smith
- Ben Webb
We should also elect someone to take notes at the meeting for publication on the wiki after the meeting, also if someone could bring a camera that would also be great.
[edit] Agenda
It would be nice if someone could do a talk on a topic that interests them, it will mean that everyone comes away from the meeting having learnt something new - as well as meeting the other members, and having a discussion about the group. Ideally this could also be accompanied with a presentation if we get a venue with a large display.
[edit] Matters
- Brainstorm initiatives
- Brainstorm possible resources
