Contents

[edit] Social Networking

Facebook is a good system to reach out to people, microbloging services such as Identi.ca and Twitter have also recently become popular - however mainstream adoption is still fairly low.

[edit] Freecycle

Some Freecycle groups are wary of sharing software.

[edit] Libraries

The Public Software Foundation offer donation kits to libraries (including school libraries). You can also become a Library Liason Volunteer or Crew Chief Volunteer.

[edit] Hackett and Bankwell

Hackett and Bankwell is a series of cartoon manuals that teaches readers how to get started with Linux-based operating systems. The first issue is best for users who are interested in switching to Ubuntu, including those who have tried to make the jump to Linux in the past but got confused and went back to a commercial operating system.
